OKW Gehäusesysteme has launched COMMUNITEC, a new series of large-volume table-top enclosures designed to accommodate demanding electronic installations while combining functionality with a modern design.
The enclosure series features an ergonomically inclined operating surface of 12°, making it ideal for devices with displays ranging from 11.5 inches to 14 inches. An integrated handle simplifies transport, which is particularly beneficial for mobile applications in medical technology, such as patient monitoring, ventilation systems and neuromonitoring devices.
Beyond healthcare, the enclosure is also suitable for applications in:
- Aesthetic medicine
- Laboratory equipment
- Environmental monitoring
- Industrial automation technology
Spacious design for large electronic components
COMMUNITEC is available in two sizes:
- Size S: 283 × 246 × 194 mm
- Size M: 344 × 274 × 219 mm
Both versions offer generous internal space for large electronic assemblies. The angled front panel improves display readability from multiple viewing angles and provides protection for membrane keyboards.
A flat surface beneath the display area allows space for additional control elements or custom printing, while a recessed rear section protects cable connections and interfaces.
Durable construction with modern aesthetics
The enclosure is manufactured from UV-resistant ASA+PC-FR material, featuring a lightly textured surface that is durable and easy to clean. The housing consists of four separate parts, allowing flexible assembly and color combinations.
Available color options include:
- Traffic white (RAL 9016)
- Anthracite grey (RAL 7016)
The optional recessed handle cover is available in traffic grey A (RAL 7042). Individual components can be ordered separately, enabling color customization.
Service-friendly assembly and customization
Assembly is designed for ease of service. Stainless steel Torx screws, positioned at the rear and inside the enclosure, ensure a clean and uninterrupted front-panel appearance.
The enclosure offers multiple mounting options for large components. The base plate can be pre-assembled outside the enclosure, while additional installation can be completed via the front panel or handle opening. Rubber feet provide stable placement during operation.
Through the company’s customization services, OKW Gehäusesysteme can also modify the standard enclosure to meet specific requirements. Available options include:
- Mechanical processing
- EMC shielding
- Printing and labeling processes
- Laser marking
These services allow manufacturers to convert the standard housing into a fully customized enclosure solution for specialized electronic equipment.
