Xaar Versatex Enables Single-Pass Digital Label Embellishment

Xaar has deployed its Versatex Printbar at a new greenfield label production site operated by Reflex Labels & Packaging in Adelaide, Australia. The installation supports high-end digital embellishment for wine and premium beverage labels and is already in commercial production at the Reflex Labelplus Australia facility.

The Versatex Printbar is integrated onto the Jet IQ M370 supplied by Jet Technologies, enabling the production of textured varnishes, high-build effects, and decorative finishes in a single digital pass. The system supports jetting of high-viscosity fluids and operation across a broad range of label substrates, allowing embellishment processes to be consolidated into one inline workflow.

The installation addresses growing demand for digitally produced premium labels with visual differentiation, particularly in the wine and spirits sector. Versatex supports effects such as spot varnishes, textured layers, cold foils, and high-opacity whites, enabling complex designs without multiple offline processes. This reduces setup time and improves consistency compared with conventional embellishment methods.




Jet Technologies has collaborated with Reflex Labels & Packaging for more than three years, delivering digital print platforms aimed at improving production efficiency and creative flexibility. The Adelaide site represents a dedicated investment in digital embellishment capability, with scope for expansion into adjacent markets including cosmetics and nutraceuticals.

According to Xaar, the Versatex platform is designed to extend industrial inkjet beyond imaging into functional and decorative applications. By combining high-viscosity jetting with precise deposition control, the system enables label converters to achieve premium tactile and visual effects while maintaining digital production speeds.
